What is up with the parcel of land behind Target in Wilmington?

Wayne Faulkner
StarNews

Right now it isn’t used for anything. The land, near Target on New Centre Drive,  comprises 42 acres that is zoned multifamily medium density (MF-M).  It is the city’s most prevalent zoning for condos or apartments and it will allow 17.4 units per acre, according to a commercial real estate expert here.

It is owned by State Street LLC, based in Charlotte, and is headed by Jeffery Kentner. Among State Street’s recent projects are the Villages at Mayfaire, the expert says.

That anything of density would be developed on this land is a laugh considering the only egress from that area is through that ridiculous intersection at New Centre Drive that catches everybody from everywhere at the same time and is thus very, very dangerous.
