When do ‘Little Britain USA’ and ‘Eastbound & Down’ start filming again?

Jeff Hidek

“Eastbound & Down” will likely start filming in the late summer or fall. Though renewed by HBO, the show has not confirmed any filming locations for season 2.

But it’s likely it will return to Wilmington and use many of the same locations, including The Blue Post, 15 S. Water St., Wilmington [Map this], and Schaeffer BMW, 4920 New Centre Drive, Wilmington [Map this], NC.

“Little Britain USA” has not been officially renewed for a second season by HBO, though the stars of the series have told us that they are writing more episodes. One rumor has them returning to HBO in a series of specials, not in a second season of the series. As soon as we know more, we’ll post it at the WilmOnFilm page.

“Eastbound” is a dark and bawdy HBO series that stars Danny McBride and Ben Best and is executive produced by Will Ferrell. McBride plays Kenny Powers, a pro baseball player who becomes a substitute teacher in his North Carolina hometown. The series filmed its pilot episode here in 2007, then returned in fall 2008 to film the five remaining first-season episodes.

“Little Britain USA,” based on the British sketch comedy series “Little Britain,” filmed a six-episode season in Wilmington in April and May 2008. About 75 local crew members worked on the series.
