Who do I call to complain about my neighbor’s trashy yard?

Judy Royal
StarNews

Do you have an eyesore next door? Is one man’s trash causing you displeasure? You don’t have to take that garbage anymore. If it’s not dangerous and you’re not completely nonconfrontational, you could try asking your neighbor to clean it up a bit. Chances are that might be all it takes. If that isn’t an option (or it doesn’t work), your jurisdiction’s code enforcement department should be your next point of contact. Someone there can threaten a private property owner with fines until he cleans up his act, and we all know that money talks, not to mention the threat of losing it.

Here are some local code enforcement contacts.
