Where is the best place to buy antiques around here?

Judy Royal

While you’ll find a concentration of antique stores in downtown Wilmington, especially in The New Castle Art & Antique District, and a few others scattered about town and in Southport, it might be worth a drive to Burgaw Antiqueplace, 101 S. Wright St., Burgaw [Map this]. From books, fine jewelry and furniture to glassware, china and collectibles, the 15,000-square-foot facility is the largest antique mall in Southeastern North Carolina. There’s also a lounge with coffee and homemade fudge. It’s open seven days a week. For more information, log on to www.burgawantiqueplace.com or call 259-7070.
