You’ve undoubtedly driven down Third Street numerous times and marveled at the spacious, Italianate home sitting between Orange and Dock streets. That’s the Latimer House at 126 S. Third St., Wilmington [Map this], a restored Victorian home with period furnishings and fixtures that serves as the headquarters and archives for the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society. It’s open from 10 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.
