Why do they not allow me to park on the street?

Judy Royal

There are any number of reasons why you aren’t allowed to park on the street in some places, and the answer all depends on where you are. If you’re in the middle of a city or town or on a major road, the powers-that-be may have deemed it unsafe due to space or traffic issues. In other places, especially organized neighborhoods, your homeowners association may have decided to nix cars on the street for the same reasons, or for simple aesthetics. Whether you agree or not, it’s best to follow the rules unless you want to be ticketed, fined or talked about at your next HOA meeting.
